Osaka has a wide array of modern attractions.


  • Kaiyukan Osaka Aquarium is one of the world’s largest aquariums and is a home to 39,000 creatures that represent some 580 species of aquatic life.
  • Universal Studios Japan brings the magic of Hollywood to Japan.
  • Kyocera Dome Osaka is the premiere sports and concert venue and also features amusement facilities.
  • Suspended 170 meters above ground level is the Floating Garden Observatory of the Sky Building that offer panoramic views of the city.
  • There is also the building wall installation type free-fall facility, Yabafo that is the first of its type in Japan. While free falling you can enjoy the great view of Namba and Midosuji from the height of 242.8 ft (74m).
  • Kids Plaza Osaka Japan’s first full-scale museum for children, was created on the key concept "learning through hands-on experience".
  • The National Museum of Art, Osaka (a modern facility with three underground floors) displays a wide range of contemporary art.
  • Osaka Municipal Museum of Art is located inside of Tennoji Park, which collections are over 8,500 Japanese and Chinese arts, including National Treasures and Important Cultural Assets.

Shopping

Osaka, traditionally known as a merchant town, has a number of unique specialty shopping areas and commercial districts. America-mura is the trendiest area for Osaka's youth. However, if it's electronics you want, head over to Den-den Town, Osaka's electronics district. Tenjinbashi-suji is the longest shopping market street of Japan and there are a lot of luxury brands stores at Shinsaibashi-suji.
