OFFICE RELOCATION AND THE SHIFT OF LEADERSHIP
3/5/2010
Greetings from Executive Director Takayuki Toriyama,
After four years of being assigned the responsibility of the City of Osaka, Chicago Office, I will be returning to Osaka, Japan. I would like to thank you for the generosity and support you have extended to me and my office for all of these years.
In the long and short four years, through your assistance and valuable input, we were able to contribute to a variety of business and sister city exchanges, tour events, and host cultural events to share Japanese arts such as Bunraku and Rakugo. We visited many companies, hosted and attended countless trade shows and started our quarterly newsletter.
Together with my departure, we have moved to a new location so that we can both streamline our office functions as well as build new and exciting relationships within the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. We will maintain and build on our close relationship with JETRO that we have cherished over the past 50 years.
Please do take note of our

Our Chicago office is the North American arm of the city hall of Osaka, and has been active over 50 years since 1958. We are proud to say that it is the oldest Japanese local government office in North America. We look forward to this next phase of the Chicago Office in a shared space with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
On March 22nd, Ms. Satoko Sako, my successor, will arrive. Please support her efforts and continue to do the same with our office. Please do continue to enrich U.S.-Japan relations through your various activities. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Takayuki Toriyama
Executive Director
