11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Arlington Height, IL
United States
The annual Japan Festival organized by the Mid America Japanese Club will be held at the Forest View Educational Center in the Northwest Suburb of Chicago. There is a high concentration of Japanese people (that have recently come from Japan) that reside in Arlington Heights along with Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect and Schaumburg. This Japanese Festival is one of the few large Japan related Festivals and in the recent years have highlighted different Cities.
On 2008 during the 35th sister city anniversary year between Osaka and Chicago, Osaka was given the lime light with the focal event of traditional sit down comedy of Osaka "Rakugo" performed in English. 2009 was Tokyo and this year will focus on Kyoto.
